Anguilla Youth Sports Foundation Hosted Music Festival at Sandy Ground

Thomas Edison Kelly holds the title of managing director at the New York corporate office of Aegis Capital, an investment banking services firm. In addition to his professional responsibilities, Thomas Edison Kelly has conducted philanthropic work, including having helped to organize the Anguilla Youth Sports Foundation.

The Anguilla Youth Sports Foundation put on a musical festival at the Sandy Ground Beach in Anguilla on July 5, 2014. Beginning at noon and ending late in the night, it featured Anguillian artists and other artists from around the world. Boss and the Horsepower Band, Roxxie Webster, and soul violinist Lee England Jr. were just a small selection of the musicians to perform. Hundreds of music lovers attended the free festival.

The festival took place the day before the Anguilla Youth Sports Foundation’s Annual Basketball camp. The camp brought professional basketball coaches from the U.S. to Anguilla to train youth in the popular sport.

Anguilla’s Native Wildlife

New York-based managing director Thomas Edison Kelly travels back and forth between the U.S. and his native home of Anguilla. In addition to his role at the New York brokerage firm Aegis Capital, Thomas Edison Kelly serves as an unofficial tourism ambassador for the Caribbean island where he was born, which is known for its pristine coastline and diverse wildlife.

Though Anguilla is less than 40 square miles, the island is home to more than 150 bird species. The land is sparse, so land animals are somewhat less diverse. Anguilla’s terrain is mostly inhabited by goats, iguanas, and geckos.

The black amevia and the sombrero ground lizard are only found on one Anguillan island. There are ongoing efforts to curb the impact of invasive species populations, which have disrupted the habitat of native land animals.

Under its waters, Anguilla offers immense biodiversity. There are seven protected marine parks, which offer refuge for species such as the sea turtle and fragile coral reefs. Divers can also observe nurse sharks, parrotfish, and barracuda.

3. Vocal - Moving Mountains employs professional voice coaches to teach various techniques in range and pitch.

4. Production - Moving Mountains offers classes in camera use and lighting. Students become part of a film crew that works closely with young actors and performers in drama and musical productions.
